Main copy room (4th Floor): four copiers in room 407
(turn right from the elevator or stairs). Copicards and access codes.
2nd Floor: two copiers in room 230 (northeast corner of the main reading room). Coins, bills, and access codes.
Copicards
Copicards are electronic cards purchased in specific denominations to be
used like a prepaid credit card. Copicards eliminate the need for coins
and bills when photocopying.

- Which photocopiers use Copicards?
- Four copiers on the 4th floor and three copiers on the 2nd floor, room 230.
- Where can they be purchased?
- The dispenser is on the 4th floor, room 407.
- How do I pay for Copicards?
- The dispenser (room 407) accepts $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills (no change).
- How much do they cost?
- Each new Copicard costs $1 but can be reused by adding credit.
- How can I add credit to a Copicard?
- Select the “Add Value” button on the dispenser. Insert the card when directed to do so.
- How much credit can I add?
- ? We recommend less than $50, in case you lose or damage the card. The library is not responsible for lost or damaged Copicards.
- Can I get a refund for unused credit?
- No.
- Can I still use cash?
- Yes. A copier on the 2nd floor, room 230, accepts coins.
- Are access codes still valid?
- No.
- What do I use to make copies if I want to charge them to a UT account number?
- UT departments can purchase Copicards through the library’s Business Office. You must have an IRIS document number to receive your Copicard. We recommend that departments limit the amount to not more than $50 per Copicard. You may want to purchase more than one Copicard.
- What is the cost of one photocopy?
- 10¢.
- Can I write my name on the Copicard?
- Yes.
- What if I leave my card in a photocopier or lose my card?
Will it be returned?
- The library cannot take responsibility for lost cards. Copicards
are the responsibility of the purchaser.
- Will damaged or nonreading cards by replaced?
- No. Like most electronic credit cards, Copicards must be protected
from abuse and electronic tampering.
