Note: The Health Sciences Library often receives requests from UTHSC alumni for access to our licensed online journals and databases, which are restricted to our own students, staff, and faculty. To date, it has been prohibitively expensive to get vendors to include alumni at little or no additional cost for access to our licensed databases and online journals.

Library Services

• Articles: Alumni may order copies of articles from the library for $6 per article. Read about Loansome Doc for more information about how to order articles through UTHSC. When you register for Loansome Doc, use the form's comment field to indicate that you are a UTHSC alumnus.

• DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) - This service covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals

• Free Medical Journals - is dedicated to the promotion of free access to medical journals over the Internet

• Merck Manual of Medical Information - Second Home Edition, Online Version includes anatomical figures, a chart of weights and measures, drug names, and descriptions of medical tests.
